怪蜀黍 (guài shǔ shǔ) strange sorghum

This word sounds the same in Chinese as 怪叔叔 (guài shú shú) or “strange uncle.” A strange uncle is a man who is sexually interested in young girls who are sometimes called LOLI, after the book Lolita. Another word for “strange uncle” is LOLICON or LOLI控, which is Japanese for “one who has a Lolita complex.”

One of China's most notorious strange uncles is Lin Jiaxiang who sexually harassed an eleven year-old girl and then claimed he was beyond censure because of his high position as Party Secretary of the Shenzhen Maritime Administration.
