获得性免疫缺陷综合征（acquired immunodeficiency syndrome），通称艾滋病（AIDS），ICD-11称人类免疫缺陷病毒病（human immunodeficiency virus disease），是一种由人類免疫缺乏病毒（HIV）感染造成的疾病。目前，该病尚无有效的治疗方法，人们一旦感染艾滋病毒，就会终生携带，但通过妥善治疗，艾滋病毒可得到控制。 HIV以人体的免疫系统作为攻击目标，在没有任何治疗手段介入的情况下，艾滋病感染者的免疫系统将逐渐被HIV摧毁，直至丧失几乎所有免疫能力。 临床上一般将艾滋病分为四个阶段：急性感染期、潜伏期、症状期，以及典型AIDS发病期。(维基百科：艾滋病患者)
