German leader urges China to relax internet restrictions

During his visit to China this week, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said China should provide unfettered internet access to natives and foreigners alike. He also took the opportunity to champion Beijing’s “One-China policy,” which contends that Taiwan is subordinate to China. Aside from sharing his stance on these aspects of Chinese policy, Schroeder visited Guangzhou to peddle nuclear equipment from an old German factory.
