Beijing cleans up with green fuels

All gas stations in Beijing are required to sell cleaner gasoline, in an effort to clean up the air in time for the 2008 Olympics, according to a Reuters article (via Business Day): “With 1,047 stations servicing 2.3 million vehicles, the highest among Chinese cities, Beijing will adopt Euro II fuel standards with 500 parts per million (ppm), or 0.05 percent sulphur content for both oil products from October 1, the official said. ” Seven of the world’s ten most polluted cities are in China.
