Stephen Chow rolls the newly acquired idiom around in his mouth. “Over the top,” he says, turning for affirmation to the Cantonese translator he hasn’t used yet during an afternoon chat. She nods. He nods.
“I like that,” the writer-actor-director-producer says, the goofy, anything-goes grin known across Asia splitting his familiar face. “My movies are over the top.”
