Joe McDonald: China’s foreign minister rejects Japanese demand for apology over violent protests

According to AP:

China’s foreign minister on Sunday rejected Tokyo’s demand for an apology for damage to Japanese diplomatic missions in violent protests, telling his Japanese counterpart that Beijing had done nothing for which it had to apologize to Japan’s people.

Meanwhile, Geo News reports that, “Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura will ‘strongly protest’ to Beijing when he visits Sunday for the failure to stop a second wave of violent anti-Japanese protests in China. Japan will renew demands of compensation for damage incurred during the protests and an apology for the violence during visit of Japanese FM.”
