From Yomiuri Shimbun, via Kansas City Star:
A media blackout over anti-Japanese demonstrations was in effect across China on Monday despite an escalation in the number of demonstrations, and foreign media were kept away from the Japanese Embassy in Beijing after it was pelted with rocks and eggs by protesters over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the Japanese government plans to demand compensation from the Chinese government for damage caused to the embassy by stones hurled at it, and that China prevent a recurrence of the incident.
