RTHK to consult staff, public on cost cuts and programming – Ambrose Leung and Agnes Lam

RTHK management has formed a taskforce to consult staff and the public over the handling of cost cuts and programming issues following a row over government interference with the public broadcaster’s editorial independence.

The move was welcomed by the staff union, which said more communication would help ease tension. But fears remained over the government’s alleged plan to “tidy up” the broadcaster.
