Leading Gansu journalist killed – Kevin Huang

From the South China Morning Post, via Asia Media:

The head of the Gansu Journalists Association has been found stabbed to death in his apartment in Lanzhou, it was reported yesterday.

Shi Xingguang was found dead on Wednesday morning after a colleague noticed his absence from work and went to his apartment, the Guangzhou-based Southern Metropolis News reported.

Shi was a deputy director of the Gansu Publicity Department and chief editor of the Gansu Daily until he retired early this year.

The provincial public security bureau refused to speculate on a motive for the killing, but said the 60-year-old died at about 10am that day. It said yesterday officers had yet to find evidence. A source suggested Shi might have been killed by former business partners over a financial dispute.
