Military equipment barter deal bears fruit – TNA

From the Thai News Agency:

China is to supply with 96 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) in exchange for 100,000 tonnes of dried longan fruit.

The barter trade deal was signed by Suthiporn Chirapandu, a senior official of the Thai Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry, and Guo Zhao Ping of China’s Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence…

Delivery of the first Chinese APC is due in the next nine months, with the rest scheduled for shipment within three years.

Khunying Sudarat said military procurements were only made in a transparent fashion, and no commission had been included in the Thai-Chinese barter trade deal.
