The New Yorker magazine has a lengthy feature piece by Indian writer Pankaj Mishra about the railroad to Tibet, which he took from Beijing to Lhasa to investigate what impact the train would have on Tibetan culture and society. The article includes an interview with Tibetan writer and blogger Woeser. Unfortunately only an abstract of the very long article is available on the New Yorker website.
