China Planning Paris Hub for African Affairs – China Confidential

China Confidential blog reports that Beijing is planning to set up a base for their Africa ventures, in France:

China Confidential has learned that China plans to establish an Africa-focused diplomatic and trade hub in Paris. The complex will be completely separate from the Chinese embassy, which is naturally focused on Chinese-French relations.

Chinese officials are searching for suitable properties for the planned hub, or center, which aims to exploit France’s historically close relations with Africa and the excellent airline connections between the French capital and African countries. [Full text]
