European candle producers argue that cheap candles made in China are damaging the UK market.

Four of Europe’s biggest candle manufacturers are calling on Peter Mandelson, the EU trade commissioner, to impose anti-dumping tariffs on cheap Chinese candles that they believe are being dumped on the European market.The group wants the EU to impose tariffs on cheap imports from the Far East, which they believe could result in 20,000 jobs being put at risk. It also believes that imports are threatening the quality of European-produced candles. [Full Text]
