A wooden informational kiosk with a sort of “window” at the center appears to frame a traditional red-and-white building with an elaborate tile rooftop. The building, which is raised high above the ground by a tall gray dais crisscrossed with red stairs, is part of Daming Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Xi’an, Shaanxi province.
