China has confirmed two outbreaks of foot and mouth disease, the World Organization of Animal Health said in a statement posted on its website.

More than 200 head of cattle were destroyed after the outbreaks were discovered, both in the eastern part of the country, it said.

China’s agriculture ministry reported the two cases on Friday, according to the organization.
