Reuters: China says freed hostages home soon

From Reuters.co.uk: “Eight Chinese hostages freed by guerrillas in Iraq at the weekend are in good spirits and will return home soon via Jordan, state media say.

The eight, kidnapped this month after arriving in Iraq from the southeastern province of Fujian in search of work, were received by Chinese diplomats at a mosque in Ramadi, west of Baghdad.

All eight were well, the official Xinhua news agency quoted the embassy as saying on Monday. It did not say when the men would return home.”

Danwei blog posted “Chinese cyberspace reaction to freeing of Iraq hostages.” Thanks to Jeremy’s informative translation. But I would not categorize these expressions simply as “Chinese cyberspace reaction.” Also see strong points made by the author of Bingfeng Tea House.
