Two reports from Xinhua reveal Chinese death on roads and in fires in 2006:

Whole report of death on roads:

The number of road traffic deaths in China was 89,455 in 2006, 9.4 percent fewer than that in 2005, and the first time below the 90,000-benchmark since 2000, according to the Ministry of Public Security.

Whole report of death in fires:

Nearly 223,000 fires occurred in China last year, leaving 1,517 people dead and 1,418 injured, the Ministry of Public Security announced on Monday.
