Beijingers are known for their pride. But this pride may get hurt as the air pollution there will probably become even worse until the 2008 Olympics. Beijinger’s pride supports them to breathe the heavy air everyday, as this is so called making a contribution for the nation’s rise. But what about Olympics athletes from over the world? Can they stand the polluted air? From AP:

Now that China is prosperous and powerful it is suffering from a major headache less than a year before the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

The headache is polluted air.

The problem isn’t new for the ancient and sprawling Chinese capital of 11 million people now daily afflicted by the effluvia from hundreds of coal-burning industries and the exhausts of its 3 million vehicles. [Full Text]
