Hong Kong’s former deputy leader was on Sunday selected to represent the democratic camp in an upcoming by-election.
Anson Chan easily beat rival Lo Wing-lok with 175 votes to Lo’s 83 in a poll of democratic politicians and activists.
The result means Chan will go head to head with former security chief Regina Ip for one of the city’s few openly contested seats, left vacant by the death of pro-Beijing politician Ma Lik. [Full Text]
