China Suspends Multiple-Entry Visas

F VisaAs the Olympics approach, the borders tighten. From Chosun Ilbo:

Chinese immigration authorities had issued multiple-entry visas good for six months to foreigners who frequently visit the country for business, but these visas have been halted.

Instead, foreigners can get 30-day single-entry visas or three-month double-entry visas which allow travel to China twice over 90 days, the South China Morning Post reported on Sunday.

Hong Kong press reported that the latest measure will remain effective until some time around late September, after the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics are finished.

Additionally, CDT has learned from the British Council that China may restrict tourist visas to only those foreigners who have purchased Olympic tickets.
