A reported released in 2002 by Harvard states that China citizen’s access to news web sites are blocked more regularly and thoroughly than porn sites. Researchers sampled over 200,000 web sites to determine what “content is [typically] banned” by the Chinese government. While Chinese authorities may be “ambivalent” about blocking porn, they are very purposeful and becoming technologically savvy about controlling their citizen’s ability to read other information on the Internet.
