High speed Net via power lines to come to rural China

The Chinese government is planning to provide Internet access via power lines to rural areas in the west of the country, according to an article in the South China Morning Post (registration required). A trial will be carried out in 10,000 households in Beijing and then implemented in the western provinces, where most households don’t have telephone lines.
