About China’s e-government project

From CDN blogroll this post on The Internet in Asia came to my notice. It is interesting that the People’s Daily is now reporting China’s e-government project with the title: “Nation desperately needs more CIOs to develop e-government.” I do believe that more professional knowledge is needed in the e-government project. More importantly though, this project should not just be about increasing administrative efficiency, but creating a more decentralized and more transparent desicion making process as an integral part of political reform. Not just more technology officers are needed, but a true strategic vision of democratilization at every level of government.
