China riot police clash with Uighurs

Riot police in Guangzhou clashed with a group of Uighurs, according to a Reuters report: “RTHK radio said on its Web site that several people had been injured in the incident, which was sparked by security guards stopping a Uighur illegally selling fried mutton from his stall in the Baiyun district of the city. The man left the area but soon returned with a mob of 70 people carrying knives and steel pipes, leading to a clash with riot police, it said. ”
