China plans law to make it easier to fire corrupt or inefficient officials

From AFP, via Yahoo! News: “China’s five million civil servants are facing a new challenge in the form of a law that will make it easier to fire them if they do not do their jobs well enough, state media said.

The draft, currently under discussion by legislators meeting in Beijing, is aimed especially at senior officials who will be told to “take the blame and quit” when something goes wrong, the China Daily reported.”
