From Townsville Bulletin:
Talks aimed at defusing the North Korean nuclear weapons crisis could be revived despite Pyongyang’s walkout, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said yesterday.
Mr Downer called North Korean ambassador Chon Jae-hong after Pyongyang’s declaration on Thursday that it had nuclear weapons and would quit the six-party talks because it feared attack by the US. “The North Korean ambassador said that the North Koreans didn’t believe that the atmosphere was right at the moment to re-engage with the six-party talks process,” Mr Downer said.
