The Japan Times: China Promises ‘Urgent’ Effort Over North Korea

From The Japan Times

With the push of South Korea, Japan, and the United States, the Chinese government promised Sunday, February 27, to bring back North Korea to the six-way talks on nuclear issues with a “sense of urgency.” According to Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei, China is concerned that if the six-way talk is not enforced, a “serious situtation” will arise. Kenichiro Sasae, head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau also agreed that “If the six-way talks are not held its effectiveness and trustworthiness could be undermined.”
