The Asian Development Bank President, Haruhiko Kuroda, visited China last Friday and offered a more “positive and conciliatory message” to China compared to the recent Japanese attitude towards the country. Minister of Finance Jin Renqing signed an agreement with Kuroda for China to pledge $20 million to the Fund for Regional Cooperation and Poverty Reduction. This fund is China’s first contribution to an international institution and is also the first to be made by a developing member country of the Asian Development Bank.
