Although China is ranked 6th in the world in terms of GDP, behind the United States and Japan, it is second to the U.S. in real “purchasing power parity national income.” Some say it is just a matter of time before China, with its population of 1.3 billion, exceeds the U.S. with its 300 million inhabitants in economic power.
Recently as the European nations have been unified to organize the EU, the American Continent is also becoming unified in the form of NAFTA, Mercosur or FTAA. Now, some have suggested the idea of Asia forming an “ASEAN + 3 (China, Japan and Korea).”
Is a global Three Kingdom Era, with a world divided into three huge nations engaged in cutthroat competition as seen in 1984 by George Orwell, going to become a reality?
