AP: China Coal Mine Flood Traps 69 Miners

From AP, via The Washington Post:

Rescuers in northeast China worked Sunday to free 69 coal miners trapped in a flooded mine, the government said.

The miners were working underground at the Tengda Coal Mine, run by the local government in Jiaohe, a city in Jilin province, when the shaft flooded around 7 a.m., the official Xinhua News Agency reported. The cause was under investigation.
