In a bid to rein in violent anti-Japan protests that have erupted in China, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing urged Chinese on Tuesday not to participate in illegal demonstrations or endanger social stability.
“Do not take part in protest activities that have not been approved. Do not do anything to affect social stability,” state television quoted Li as telling a meeting in Beijing of 3,500 people from the Communist Party, government and military.
“Turn your patriotic fervour toward concrete actions in your work and diligent studies, so as to contribute to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”
