Lien calls for cross-Straits peace negotiations

From Xinhuanet:

Visiting Chinese Kuomintang Party (KMT) Chairman Lien Chan said here Monday that he hoped the Taiwan authorities would actively prepare for negotiations with the mainland to end the state of hostility across the Taiwan Straits.

Lien told a press conference that top leaders of the KMT and the Communist Party of China (CPC) had reached a consensus on ending the state of hostility across the Taiwan Straits and on promoting the signing of a accord across the Straits.
