China and Russia reached a final agreement yesterday on their eastern border, putting an end to 40 years of negotiations, China’s foreign ministry said according to the official Xinhua News Agency.
Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, exchanged documents ratified by their parliaments agreeing to share the last area of disputed land and a group of islands totaling 375 square kilometers, Xinhua said. China and Russia share a 4,300-kilometer-long border.
