The European Union and China began a fourth day of talks Sunday on a textiles dispute that has left millions of items of Chinese-made clothing blocked at European ports.
The garments are being stockpiled because they exceed an EU quota imposed in June to protect European manufacturers, but angry European retailers have now threatened to sue the EU over the blocked shipments.
The retailers, who have paid for the goods and face additional storage and shipping fees, are blaming the EU trade commission for botching the earlier textile talks and failing to foresee the impasse.
