Migrant workers get media savvy – Stephen Frost

Zhengzhoumingong From CSR Asia blog:

Migrant workers in Zhengzhou hold a banner advertising a news release to demand back wages. The story of back wages is not particularly remarkable (in fact it’s par for the course), but the banner advertising their complaint as a news release is an interesting strategy to get their story in the press (and it seems to have worked). The banner in full reads Ê∞ëÂ∑•Áª¥ÊùÉËÆ∞ËÄÖÊñ∞ÈóªÂèëÂ∏ɉºö (the first few characters are not visible in this photo). The company for which the labourers had worked was contracted to complete office blocks on the campus of Henan University. See the full story (in Chinese) here.
