South China’s Guandong Province has approved 58,800 foreign-funded enterprises by the end of 2005, ranking first in the country, according to the local statistics bureau.
As one of the most attractive site of foreign investment, Guangdong actually used 12.4 billion U.S. dollars in foreign investment in 2005, up 23.5 percent over the previous year.
Foreign-funded firms in Guangdong increased their investment by 10.3 billion U.S. dollars last year, accounting for 43.4 percent of the total contractual value.
