100 migrant workers assaulted after asking for back wages -CSR Asia

From CSR Asia (link):

This sort of story occurs frequently on the mainland and is almost always due to sub-contracting. According to the Beijing News, on 31 May more than 100 migrant workers were assaulted by 20 thugs when they asked for their back wages at the property sales centre of the Wangjing International Commercial Centre. The developer of the centre is Zhengpeng Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. More than 10 workers were injured badly enough to be hospitalised. Workers said the project contractor for one part of the Wangjing International Commercial Centre is the JD Company from South Korea. Since the project started on 19 March, the JD Company has sub-contracted it to the China Construction Group Bureau 4 – Company 1. However, JD has not paid anything to Company 1.
