China Again Delays Verdict on Times Researcher – Jim Yardley

From New York Times:

Chinese authorities have told lawyers for a jailed New York Times researcher that the verdict in the case would be delayed, even though the lawyers said the court had been required to deliver a decision today.

Zhao Yan, the researcher, who worked in the Times’s Beijing bureau, is accused of fraud and leaking state secrets to the newspaper. Mr. Zhao, 44, has said he is innocent, while the Times has repeatedly called for his release. [Full Text]
