China police seize guns, explosives in crackdown – Reuters

Chinese police have seized thousands of guns and tonnes of illegal explosives two months after launching a national campaign to crackdown on , state media said on Tuesday.

In the southwestern province of Sichuan, 5,500 guns, including pistols, hunting rifles, and home-made and military weapons had been seized, Xinhua news agency said, citing the Ministry of .

More than 1,000 people were charged with illegal firearms crimes in nearly 250 cases in Sichuan and the two northeastern provinces of Jilin and Liaoning, it said. [Full Text]
