Venture-capital investment in China doubled to US$480 million in the three months ended June from US$239 million in the year-earlier period, a new report said Thursday.
The dollar value of total deals for the quarter was the highest in 2¬Ω years, and the number of transactions, 54, was the highest on record for any quarter, according to the inaugural China Quarterly Venture Capital Report by Dow Jones VentureOne and accountancy firm Ernst & Young LLP.
“The report underlines how China’s venture-capital market has continued to mature and attract interest from overseas investors,” said Jamie Paton, managing director and co-head Asia of U.K.-based private equity firm 3i Group PLC and chairman of the Hong Kong Venture Capital Association.[Full Text and Subscrobers Only]
