China is among the countries whose companies are most intent to pay briberies abroad, said Transparency International, a non-governmental organisation addressing global corruption.
China was ranked second on Transparency International 2006 Bribe Payers Index, a survey on the propensity of companies from 30 leading exporting countries to bribe abroad. According to the index, companies from India, China, and Russia pay most briberies.
“In the case of China and other emerging export powers, efforts to strengthen domestic anti-corruption activities have failed to extend abroad,” Transparency International said in its news release.
