P&G to resume SK-II sales in China – Geoff Dyer

Procter & Gamble, the US consumer products group, will resume selling its SK-II brand of cosmetics in China after regulators said the products were safe for use following a month-long suspension.

The US company was forced to withdraw the SK-II skincare line, which includes face creams and whitening products, after Chinese officials said last month they had found traces of two potentially dangerous chemicals.

The reports of possible health risks prompted a fierce backlash from some Chinese consumers, partly orchestrated on the internet, and forced P&G into offering compensation.[Full Text]
