A car killing spree claimed the lives of a newly-wed couple and injured another in Qingdao on the night of Nov. 26. But when local netizens logged onto online forums to check out the latest and tried to post comments, they found their accounts soon to be deleted. An hour later, the whole posting about the news was gone. And people also found that the incident, called “Mazada 6” after the murdering car, didn’t make local TV and newspapers.

A recollection of witnesses gave a rough account: a woman and two men went out of a restaurant/hotel to drive home and found her car blocked by another car that parked in front of hers. She ordered a hotel guard to find the owner of the other car to move the car away. Five minutes later, the guard finally found the car owner and the car soon moved aside.

The woman, frustrated by the “tardiness,” slapped the guard in the face, dealing him an inch-long opening under an eye. The guard stood firm in front of her car to seek compensation. The woman drove up the car and hit the guard on the hood, speeding forward for more than 200 meters. And soon the crazy car hit a couple who were passing a road, killing them soon after they were sent to the hospital.

The murderer didn’t stop her car but sped away to run, hitting another car not soon after. She offered 200 yuan to settle the crash but, with blood on her face, the owner of the hit car insisted to hand over the case to police, who soon came up and seized the woman.

Then, rumors surfaced that the woman is a relative of a vice mayor. [Full Text in Chinese]
