The European Union has become the latest voice to express concern over China’s test of an anti-satellite weapon and the risks of an arms race in space.
A statement from the Germany, which holds the rotating EU presidency, warned the test could be seen as a provocative step leading to the militarisation of space.
“A test of an anti-satellite weapon is inconsistent with international efforts to avert an arms race in outer space and undermines security in outer space,” it said.
