World 2007-02 23 Xinsrc 0520204230928140229075From Xinhua, translated by CDT:

A research paper jointly done by Chinese, French, Russian and American scientists have found that snow caps on the Himalayas mountains have been affected by global warming.

The finding was based on the research on ice cores from the mountains collected in 2001, 2002 and recent years.

Analysis finds that snow melting volume nowadays is much higher than what it was 2,000 years ago, and that the gas concentration in the ice cores now is significantly lower than 2, 000 years ago. [Full Text, in Chinese]
