China barred any more cybercafes from opening this year, the latest move to restrict the rising influence of the Internet. The authorities will not approve any Internet cafe licenses in 2007, according to a notice posted on the Culture Ministry’s Web site. There are about 113,000 registered Internet bars in China, the official Xinhua news agency said, citing government figures.[Full Text]
