Bush and China’s Leader Tackle Thorny Issues – AP

President Bush says he finds the leader of China is “an easy man to talk to.” He describes their talks today in Australia as “very comfortable.”

Bush and China’s President Hu Jintao (hoo jin-tow) met on the sidelines of the Pacific summit. Hu calls the 90-minute discussion “candid and friendly.” And it covered the gamut from climate change and Iran to U.S. concern over human rights and tainted Chinese exports. Bush says he shared with Hu America’s concern about religious freedom and individual liberties in China. He also describes the Chinese leader as “quite articulate about product safety .” [Full Text]
