China Prepares to Send Peacekeepers to Darfur – Anthony Kuhn

After months of taking heat for its no-strings aid to controversial African regimes, China’s looks as if its might be ready to get its hands dirty in the continent’s messiest conflict. From NPR:

The Chinese government organized a reporters’ trip to an army base in central Henan province to see the People’s Liberation Army engineering unit headed to Darfur to join peacekeeping forces there.
