US retail giant Target has become the latest company to recall Chinese-made toys because of safety fears.
Target has issued a voluntary recall of 350,000 items after discovering that their paint contained excessive levels of lead.
The Chinese government reacted to the recall, the latest in a spate of such moves, by stressing its own concerns.
Beijing “retains a consistent attitude towards new product quality problems” a commerce ministry spokesman said. [Full Text]
