China to crack down on bootleg computer games

China Tech News reports that starting today, China’s State Press and Publication Administration will begin cracking down on bootleg games. Estimates of $12,000 USD a day are lost by this software piracy.
Having been to Shanghai a few days ago, I think that this will be a difficult prospect. Street vendors readily sell pirated softare for under 1 USD per CD.
